It's a shame that Chicago is so maligned as a band. It seems most people only know of them from their 80s & 90s Peter Cetera ballad-filled pap. Chicago as a band "died" when their guitarist Terry Kath accidentally killed himself back in '78. If you listen to the first ten Chicago albums (especially their seminal early albums) you will hear an inventive, original sound with some serious musicianship....
