I took this photo during a railfan photo stop aboard a 1986 CTA fantrip. The excursion was advertised as "The Snowflake Special", and was sponsored by the Illinois Railway Museum located in Union Illinois. The trip utilized eight 1950's era CTA 6000 series lightweight rapid transit cars that were built by the St. Louis Car Company. Before the Chicago Transit Authority began their current...

A brightly lit skyline with elevated towers reflecting off the water of Lake Michigan, and a cool breeze blows across my face. This scenario could only describe my wonderful windy city, Chicago. History Chicago got its name from the native Indian word that described the area. Chicago was founded in 1673 by European explorers, Louis Joliet and [...]

I took this photo on a sunny morning, in December of 2005. A northbound Chicago Transit Authority 1990's era GMC model RTS transit bus assigned to the Route # 11 Lincoln Avenue bus line, is viewed approaching the bus stop at the intersection of North Lincoln and West Berteau Avenues on Chicago's northside.

I took this photo during a September 2006 visit to the East Troy Electric Railroad and Museum in the village of East Troy Wisconsin. A Chicago Transit Authority 5-50 series rapid transit car that was recently restored to it's original late 1950's era color scheme, shares space in the shop with an early 1900's era electric streetcar from Mineapolis Minnesota. This photo shows the behind the scenes image...

I took this photo aboard an April 1986 chartered fantrip over the Chicago Transit Authority's rapid transit elevated and subway lines. This is a detailed view of the folding transit style doors used on the CTA's 1950's era 6000 series lightweight rapid transit cars. The doors that are shown here, are on two 6000 series cars that were painted yellow and used in Maintenance and Snowplow service. The...
