Days like these I wish I woke up in another dimension. It wasn't as if I was having a bad day but that I was just havig a day of inconveniences. It is as if they all came at me at once. For a person with obsessive compulsive disorder, it can get frustrating very quickly. Firstly, the cough is lingering and because of the human body's hormone effects to the mucous membranes at night I wake up hacking...

My father-in-law came through his surgery ok - according to the doc things were actually pretty clean inside the torn muscle, so that should help the healing. Still, he will be out of commission for a few weeks with several months of rehab after that. We appreciate all the comments and thoughts for him - I will be sure to pass along the well-wishes. Thanks all.

I took my son to the ER for a broken thumb. It was a minor injury but the thumb is the most important digit on the hand. The ER care was just fine...a quick look an Xray and a small splint. We didn't have to wait long and everyone was...

Stinky! Cameron Diaz' latest film, The Box, blew it at the box office on Friday night! Directed by Donnie Darko's Richard Kelly, the horror flick is only expected to open to a measly $7 mil over the weekend. Pretty shitty for a movie that cost $25 million to make!! And Cameron's not alone! MJ's This Is It continues [...]

Supposedly, this is "drilling down" for the real Ft. Hood story. An account of a visit to the facility in June. What's he looking for? Stress, people waiting in lines, medical exams. No wonder Fox scoops them on everything. What a snooze. And Bob Greene rambles on and on about fog. And could the shooter have been suffering from "vicarious traumatisation?" HLN's Christi Paul talks...

Which is worse, having a chronic paralytic ileus or getting 75 x rays of your belly? I'm not sure which is worse. But that's what one patient of mine has endured over a 15 month spana. Seventy five abdominal x rays. That's five x rays a month, every month, for 15 months. In addition, he's had 8 CT scans of his abdomen and pelvis to evaluate the paralytic ileus he's had since he moved to Happy's town...

So, I've spent the last week and a half now in various stages of 'sick'. And I don't mean a cold... a cold I can handle. No, it wasn't swine flu either. It was a sinus infection complete with a 100F+ fever that lasted until I got antibiotics, and has now settled down and maybe a happy home in my lungs. The doc had prescribed me some kick-ass cough syrup along with the antib, but the problem is that...

An 86-year-old man went to his doctor for his annual check-up… The doctor asked him how he was feeling, and the 86-year-old said, “Things are great and I’ve never felt better. I now have a 20-year-old bride who is pregnant with my child! So what do you think about that Doc'” The doctor considered his question for [...] Related posts: What are you? Italian Bread Dear Abby

Just finished a wonderful dinner party - yes they still happen you know. And we were all talking about things past, girlfriends, boyfriends things we got up to in the 80s (OK I'm showing my age here) and of course celebrating the fact that we had been married 10 years! I was asked what was it like. What was the best bit and I remembered what it was - finding out I was pregnant not for the first time...
