Let’s stop this up-tick nonsense. Now.

Apart from the usual suspects — many of the bobblehead persuasion, others of the older-than-dirt Broad-and-Wall “I remember when pillaging customers was in the job description” club — some otherwise intelligent people — looking at you, Nancy Havens — are...

The minute someone makes it in, they seal up the door behind them

Marc Bernardin, co-writer of The Highwaymen and Monster Attack Network, shares a one-page pitch for a comic series called Robin Banks and the Liberators on his blog. He says the book is “a high-fashion, high-tension, high-camp swinging-’60s book about very pretty girls doing very bad things,” and, I’m guessing, he’s hoping someone somewhere [...]

Bishop FM on Monday night

I was resident musician on Terry Ferdinand's Folk Show on Bishop FM, last Monday night. I was joined by The Pearson Clan, a lovely couple who sing a variety of new and old tunes, as well as playing some great mandolin and dulcimer pieces. Geoff and Linda had a lovely mix of guitar and vocals - they played a lovely Gillian Welch tune "Orphan Child" that I'd love to have sung harmonies on

All My Trials: The Highwaymen

I know this has been covered by the best, and I probably lean toward Peter, Paul and Mary as they are the first I'd heard sing it, but The Highwaymen sing it just fine. MP3 File

Stand And Deliver

I can take time travel books or leave them. The mechanics of getting a character from one time period to another require a willing suspension of disbelief that I can only muster up if there's a good story to go along with it. Jack Bolt and the Highwaymen's Hideout by Richard Hamilton did the trick for me. And, according to its publisher, it's written for 7- to 9-year olds, making it a book for that...
