A Place to Stand (Free subscription) | yesterday
I have been banned from the Scotsman website (again), apparently this time for mentioning del Ponte's announcement, in her book published in March, about our role in organlegging. They have had 2 days but if the Scotsman reply to this I will publish...

As promised, here's the rebuttal to the Scotsman's continued vendetta against Local Income Tax. I'm surprised to be honest that the Scotsman can only find gripes from 25 people about LIT . As any Tax system that you'd want to introduce is far from perfect and what we must strive for is the best possible, fairest and most comprehensively inclusive system that we can. Some of the Nats Jeff and Richard Thompson have given some pretty clear rebuttal on most of the points so I'll not haver on to much....

Suffice to say, most are complete twaddle, and I'll be rebutting every single one later this evening when I have time. However, it's difficult to be overly critical when they also have the stout good sense to publish letters such as the first one here . Sir Kenneth...

So it's just me and the kids. Well, I do have the help of the most fantastic babysitter ever invented, ever! She is wonderful with the children and our youngest, (all of 2.5 yrs of age) is completely smitten...

It should have been a fascinating history of showbiz publicity and celebrity culture, but Mark Borkowski's book looks more like an excuse for a vacuous PR stunt.
