There was a big jump in nonresidential construction activity last month in metropolitan Kansas City, but not enough to reverse the overall downward trend for the year. McGraw-Hill Construction reported that $130.2 million in nonresidential contracts were issued in October, up 106.3 percent from the same month a year ago.
