Such is the tale of Alien Legion, which is soon to enjoy a revival that’ll have many a comic fan claiming they were there from the beginning. Clark Kent says: I didn’t even know what this was… So, I [...]

"THE DIRTY DOZEN in deep space." Hard to believe that pitch hasn't been made into a movie yet, huh? Well, it's not for lack of trying. An adaptation of the 80s Epic Comics series ALIEN LEGION has been kicking around Hollywood for ages, but now it seems to have some traction. According to USA Today, the high-concept sci-fi action tale is in the works with megaproducer Jerry Bruckheimer, and...

Such is the tale of Alien Legion , which is soon to enjoy a revival that'll have many a comic fan claiming they were there from the beginning. (I won't be one of them -- I'll openly confess that it passed me right by.) Creator Carl Potts described Alien Legion as "the Foreign...

Some of the biggest news today surrounds a new project in development at Disney with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. It's an adaptation of an epic comic book from the 1980s called Alien Legion that was basically the French Foreign Legion in outer space. Writers Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, the duo behind 3:10 to Yuma, Wanted, and The A-Team, have been writing the screenplay for Bruckheimer. "Think...

In a generally buoyant marketplace, the major entertainment conglomerates have posted better than expected returns for the summer, with Disney the last to announce an 18% rise in profits. This is despite a couple of theatrical misfires, including the Jerry Bruckheimer produced G-Force, and lower than usual consumer spending on DVDs, according to Video Business [...]

Just like the industry that it relies on for sales, the music videogame market has quickly shattered into a bevy of niche products. First was Guitar Hero: Aerosmith , a game for people who like videogames but only want to play one featuring a band that has soundtracked pivotal scenes in Jerry Bruckheimer productions. Then Guitar Hero: Metallica , which appealed to denim-vest wearers. And LEGO: Rock...

I was surprised that we didn't see a SORCERER'S APPRENTICE trailer online around when A CHRISTMAS CAROL was released because it seemed like the perfect opportunity to pimp one of Disney's biggest upcoming films (they instead used that slot to promote another Jerry Bruckheimer/Disney collaboration, PRINCE OF PERSIA). But website Fanboys.net has a few scans of the first official photos from the film....

Video game movies have never been treated with a lot of reverence or respect by moviegoers, maybe because few of them ever contain the ingenuity or interactivity of their source material. That general opinion of the genre might change with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time , being that it's the first movie based on a video game produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Walt Disney Studios, the creative team...

Sadly, this will surely not be the end. But it does seem to explain why the studio kinda laid down for the Christmas Carol disappointment spin. Mark Zoradi was part of the old team. As great a politician as Oren Aviv is, one would have to think he is either next to go or will assume a right hand role with Rich Ross. There appears to be no middle. By the time all the blood has dried, I expect this...
