Watch Silent Hill (The Movie) On Hulu

Maybe it's not the greatest cinematic achievement, but compared to a few other game-to-movie translations, Silent Hill is practically a masterpiece. If you've never taken the time to check it out, folks in America (sorry, rest of the world) can now watch it streaming on Hulu for free, as they're added the movie to the site just in time for Halloween. Trick or treat! In case you haven't already, you'll...

Roger Avary is Returning to Silent Hill

There will be more shenanigans in Silent Hill. The 2006 film, directed by Christoph Gans didn't do terribly well, but Konami's game series is a perpetual seller, suggesting that there is room for another film. So screenwriter Roger Avary is re-teaming with producer Samuel Hadida to rebuild the foggy, freaky town. Or perhaps Konami is just jealous that Capcom will soon collect yet another Resident Evil...

Silent Hill - A Review

Tuesday I gave you a brief rundown of everything Silent Hill. The games, it goes without saying, should be experienced by anyone who has ever been a fan of the horror genre. On the other hand, there is also a film version out there, and we all know what usually happens when video games are [...]

"The Shield" delivers a supremely satisfying series finale

The justice meted out to the corrupt cops in Tuesday night's series finale of "The Shield" could've gone, by my reckoning, one of four ways: * Someone (or everyone) gets away clean. * Someone (not likely everyone) gets killed....

The Shield, Final Season, Episode One

First of all, thanks to Anheuser Busch for their sponsorship of the final season of television’s greatest drama. How do I know it’s television’s greatest drama? It’s never won an Emmy in that category. On the other hand, awards shows like to reward a series when it’s done, and not when it’s in the middle [...]

TV Review: The Shield - Season 7

I remember way back when FX's The Shield began and how it was the glory time for premium cable channel HBO. You had The Sopranos , Six Feet Under , Sex and the City running to keep you entertained. These were hard hitting shows that came close to saving television for the jaded viewer.

BOOKS 2 FILM > > The Mist

In 1985, when I was a 14, all I wanted for Christmas was Stephen King’s SKELETON CREW, then fresh in hardback. I got it, and the cold winter nights were perfect for reading “The Mist,” the eerie first of 22 stories in the collection. But really, what were the Weinstein brothers thinking in realizing Frank Darabont's [...]
