The best action film since Arnold Schwarzenegger retired from making good films

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the greatest star of all time. Everyone else (Cary Grant, Bruce Willis, James Stewart, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise etc) are all mere mortals who you may like, but are still just people. Schwarzenegger on the other hand was a God to my 13-year-old eyes. His films up to True Lies in 1994 are mostly all classics. I’ll take The Running Man over pretty much any modern action...

A really good friend

Is just what I needed and as usual Alex came up trumps. So last night was spent sat in front of a lovely roaring fire drinking tea, eating chocolate with the best friend any one could wish for. We laughed, we drooled (over Jason Statham), I cried and Alex listened. Thank you so much Alex you are the greatest friend ever. To top of what had been a great evening Alex gave me this fantastic mug gift set...

Kramer: “No, the band didn’t break up.” WPLR : The band is together Kramer: “Yup” WPLR : The band is like a marriage and sometimes you are in different rooms and need some space. amazingly bonkers

TV While I was researching that last post, I came across what might well be the most utterly, amazingly bonkers blog post about Doctor Who I've ever seen. After some YouTube videos, Marc offers his vision for Season 32 of the series . Firstly some casting: The Doctor: 1st choices – Emma Thompson and Jason Isaacs (tie) 2rd choice – Bill Nighy 3rd choice – Joanna Lumley Companions:...

WWW: Weekend Wrental Wreviews 16

Let's see what I saw this week for Weekend Wrental Wreviews in my 16th WWW: 1) Formula 51 : This was no Guy Ritchie film, but it had a lot of the same sensibilities. After a badly shot introduction in which we're supposed to believe Samuel L. Jackson is playing his character 30 years ago in the ‘70s, we jump ahead to the future, where he's now making a living designing illegal drugs after his...

Charisma Carpenter In Legend Of The Seeker & Expendables

Ever wonder what happened to Buffy and Angel's hottest brunette; 'Cordelia' aka Charisma Carpenter? I did until now... Even though I've not seen her in anything since the last episode of Angel back in 2004 it seems the little lady has been quite the busy bunny. Not only has she appeared in shows like Charmed, Veronica Mars, CSI and Greek (none of which I watch, hence why I haven't seen her since 2004!)...

Were YOU on the List?

The Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar was the place to be Saturday night…especially for camera shy celebs thanks to host Nur Khan’s Heroes & Villans party. The doorman who donned an All-Access costume was anything but while keeping a close reign on his clipboard. Hugh Grant, Sienna Miller, and Kirsten Dunst all popped by–and magically bypassed the paparrazzi–while Jason...

In NFL, It's Either Shape Up or Fade Out

by Kevin Blackistone Filed under: NFL Sylvester Stallone has Hollywood all a twitter (the old school use of the word) right now over an action flick he is producing called The Expendables . Reason is, it stars a bunch of guys' guys including Jason Statham, Jet Li, Julia Roberts' brother Eric and Mickey Rourke, who back in the day I thought Bruce Willis was a cheap imitation of. The movie is about...

‘Expendables’ exclusive: Sylvester Stallone talks ‘$15 billion’ scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: we couldn’t be more pumped for Sylvester Stallone’s all-star action extravaganza, The Expendables. If you’ve been tracking this pecs-pumping, pyrotechnics-palooza with us, then you’re already hip to the summer 2010 film’s hulking, Who’s Who he-man cast (Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren,...

An unlikely Lobo?

Guy Ritchie and producer Joel Silver are planning to bring DC Comics' pale-skinned, killcrazy alien LOBO to big screens... but how? According to Mania, they're still trying to figure that out. Would it be someone with experience and a physique, such as Dwayne Johnson, Ritchie regular Jason Statham or his ROCKnROLLA star Gerard Butler? Will they go the all-CG performance-capture Gollum-style route?...
