The remaining store closest to me is kind of stuffy and the one downtown is run by a couple of sharp operators who know the real value of books and have an internet presence to exploit...

Now they are back: pointy bullet bras seemingly designed, it seems, both for comfort and for show.

Gung Ho! (1943, USA) - We follow the 2nd Marine Raiders from training to their first combat on Makin Island. Their motivations for signing up are fairly unbowdlerized: One wants to impress a girl, another "just don't like Japs". When they're transported by submarine, some of them panic, and the movie makes that seem okay, because submarines are scary. And when the fighting starts, it's random...

The Daily Mail recently declared that pointy bras are making a comeback. Citing recent Louise Golden and Jean Paul Gaultier catwalks, DM claims that the surge in sales “is indicative of a desire to celebrate women’s curves that has followed previous periods of economic turmoil.” A spokesman from John Lewis said, “Sales have shown that women are no longer hiding their breasts...

The trend of the 1950’s and 1980’s has been revived: say hello (again) to the pointy bra for the Spring / Summer fashions of 2010. The silhouette may be best typified by Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell - that conical shaped bra that got the breasts up and out. It’s a radical departure from push up bras that stress cleavage or bras that focus on a more natural shape. Sales on bras...

And here we were thinking the 80s was the in vogue fashion. Nope, the big news in style circles is the comeback of an unlikely item – the pointy bra. More conical and structured than their current squishier counterparts, these examples of old school underwear were popularised in the 50s by Hollywood sirens such as Marilyn Monroe and her Gentlemen Prefer Blondes co-star, Jane Russell and again...
