(NYSE: CNP) today reported net income of $114 million, or $0.31 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2009 compared to $136 million, or $0.39 per diluted share, for the same period of 2008. Operating income for the third quarter of 2009 was $287 million compared to $337 million for the same period of 2008.
