NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Ameren Corp. said Tuesday its third-quarter profit fell to $204 million, or 97 cents a share, from $244 million, or $1.18 a share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, core net income declined to $1.17 a share from the year-earlier $1.33 a share.
