The Top Gear nutters are currently trying to work out which manufacturer has made the most "great" cars. The instinctive first response from the show's audience seemed to be Aston Martin and Ferrari, but there's Lotus and Jaguar of course and the team mentioned Ford. Wasn't the Ford Cortina a great car, selling millions and the 3.0 litre Capri the car that everybody wanted? I wouldn't be...

If you wanted to see the 4.5 litre V8 570bhp, $225k 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia at next month's LA motorshow, think again. Mercedes-Benz just came back with the gullwing door for its uber-coupe, the SLS AMG. But Ferrari may have a special ace up its sleeve if the latest leaked patent drawings are any indication. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you: that is an Aston Martin DB7 wearing the novel door concept. But that's just one example of corporate subterfuge...

And the exotic supercar slaughter continues. However in all fairness, unlike the recent Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari California incidents in which their respective drivers were to blame, this crash that allegedly occurred in Warsaw, Poland, and involved an Aston Martin DB9 (or at least it looks like a DB9), may very well have been caused by the rain...

Lamborghini is known for scissor doors, Mercedes for gullwings, Koenigsegg for dihedral syncro-helixes . Ferrari wants to outdo them all, patenting a door design that lifts part of the fender too. These patents, sketched on an Aston Martin DB7 to throw people off, were uncovered by Autocar and reveal a system that, to us, appears to hinge at the base of the windscreen, allowing almost the entire side...

Conventional wisdom used to be that bigger cars got bigger luxury, and smaller cars did without. But as premium buyers have been migrating to smaller cars for easier access to city streets and a lower environmental impact, automakers have been learning that they expect their luxuries to come with them, just in a smaller package. Aston Martin is planning an exclusive city car based on the Toyota iQ,...

There is good news for Aston Martin enthusiasts in the US! The V12 Vantage is said to not be available in North America and to be limited to 1,000 units in its one-year life span. However, there seems to be a glimmer of hope since CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez told the media during the Frankfurt Motor Show that Aston Martin may well build more of this sports car.
