After months of delay, the first auto dealer talks have been confirmed to begin on Sept. 30. A legislation proposal had been brought that would have reversed termination of 789 Chrysler dealerships and stopped GM ’s plans to close 1,350 stores by October 2010.

From Fiat’s plans for Chrysler , Dodge, and Jeep that were announced earlier in the week, you may have noticed that Ram was left out. The Ram brand had been reserved for Chrysler Co.’s truck offerings but now, an initiative is reportedly in the works that would promote the Ram as a standalone brand, focusing exclusively on vans, SUVs, commercial vehicles, and pickups.
