I know Sunny doesn't want anymore posts which give fuel to the Tories about Brown but this shouldn't be ignored. That's the extraordinary finding of a Populus poll for The Times that has just appeared on its website. The poll puts the Conservatives on 40%, 11% ahead of Labour on 29%. The LibDems are on 19%. Cameron and Osborne (40%)...

The figure amongst *normal* people will, almost certainly, be much higher. Gordon Brown. Not so much Labour's answer to John Major. Increasingly, he looks more and more like Iain Duncan Smith . The Times reports that more than half of Labour's supporters believe that Gordon Brown should stand down to make way for a more electable alternative. Of course this is just one poll and things could easily change tomorrow or next week or even next month. Nevertheless, it cannot be a comfortable position for any leader to lose the support, confidence and even trust of some of their key party members...
