On The Reading Shelf

Last night I took a look at my bedside table which is where I stack books waiting to be read. I counted twelve. That's not counting the one I had in my hand. In fact, my space for books was all maxed out so I have three more on my desk. If you're keeping count, that's sixteen so far. Add two for the ones currently en route from Amazon and we're up to 18. Larceny, she wrote: Patricia Cornwell sues

A flashy Ferrari disappears. Then the aggrieved owner begins to suspect that her bank accounts have leaked tens of millions of dollars without explanation. If this was the plot of an airport suspense novel, you'd expect violence before 20,000 feet. If it was real-life America, you'd expect a fat lawsuit.

Patricia Cornwell in real-life mystery over millions in missing earnings

The lawsuit filed against New York-based Anchin, Block & Anchin in the US district court in Boston says that her net worth is less than $10 million, even though her literary empire rakes in “high eight figure” totals each year.
